Override commission
An override commission is a commission paid on someone else’s sales, usually to the person who recruited or manages them. It can be a share of their commission, a share of the sale, or a fixed amount.
Also called: override, override rate, upline commission.
Worked example: The three bases on a $100 sale at 20%
- 25% of the commission
- $5
- 5% of the sale
- $5
- $5 per approved customer
- $5
Same payout today; different once rates change.
In more detail
Which base an override uses matters more than its rate. 25% of the commission and 5% of the sale pay the same on a 20% program, but they move apart the moment the commission rate changes.
How ViralPayouts handles it
A program chooses one base. A percentage can be 1% to 95%, and partner plus recruiter can never exceed the sale.
